This just in: What does Chris Rock have on his face? Fresh Prince.
Will Smith should be charged with assault. Why? Because he assaulted someone. “He was just protecting his wife’s honor,” you say. So, you get to decide what is justifiable assault? He should be charged and forced to state his defense.
Why am I making a big deal out of this? Because wealth does not mean you are entitled to a different set of laws and justice.
Wealth and power should not equate to leniency.
Once upon a time, I would watch something on the news about Trump and think, “Finally, he is caught red-handed and will have to pay a price.” I have been wrong every. single. time.
Men of power defying Congressional subpoenas have nothing to fear from today’s legal system.
A supreme court justice is the only one out of 9 that tried to keep certain January 6th documents out of the hands of Congress. These particular documents had emails with his wife urging Trump’s Chief of Staff to overturn an election. Clarence Thomas used his position on the Supreme Court to try to keep these emails secret. And…goes on to say he is impartial.
He would face consequences except that the Republican Party has come out publicly and said there is no conflict of interest here that they can detect.
This is eerily similar to Trump’s first impeachment. You may recall that Trump threatened to withhold weapons from Ukraine unless they “did him a favor.” Republicans didn’t think there was anything wrong with this. It couldn’t be extortion because Trump didn’t specifically say, “I extort thee!”
Republicans are even against prosecuting the people that stormed the capital on January 6th, resulting in several deaths. This was an attempted Coup that that Republican Party has referred to an “normal political discourse.”
There is a problem here. If you are coming back at me with “They all do it,” then you are a part of the problem.
Here is a funny video…
Time to save the world.
Up, up and away…

I agree, Jim! Will should have been escorted out in handcuffs. Not only did he assault someone, he overshadowed all the winners and stole one of their best moments. That’s some ego on that dude!
The GOP lost my support some time ago with a few exceptions like Adam Kinsinger and Liz Cheney. I also liked when Ben Sasse referred to the “jackassery” that was displayed at the confirmation hearings. Notable jackasses would include senators Cruz, Graham and Hawley.
Good blog! Thanks!

Hi Kim,
I quit the GOP back in 2005; when it became obvious that we were lied to about Iraq. I never paid a lot of attention before that. As a good Republican, I heard, “We are pro-business” and I saw them pass laws that seemed to favor business. Now, I can see that this was just a ruse. Pro-business apparently means “We govern to the highest bidder” which in many cases is an industry. So, they don’t pass a law to help business because they are pro-business. They pass a law to help “a” business because they were bribed to do so. In the last few years…they are just plain crazy.
I’m starting to see that.
Not only that but the joke, in my opinion, actually was meant to empower Jada not demean her. GI Jane was about a woman who made it through SEAL training. She shaved her head because her hair was getting in the way. Pretty sure Rock intended it to make a positive out of her hair loss issue. Granted she apparently didn’t take it that way but Will Smith committing battery to “defend her honor” was wrong.
Unfortunately, the Supreme Court has no requirements or definitions of conflict of interest recusal….they are basically left to their own devices and Thomas can do as he pleases. His wife is a QAnon nutcase not sure what America it is she is trying to save but it isn’t any version of America that has ever existed.
